Now in its 27th year, the SEATTLE IMPROVISED MUSIC FESTIVAL will be held February 8, 9, 10, 11, 2012 at the Chapel Performance Space in Wallingford.

The longest running festival of its kind in North America, SIMF is an annual meeting place for improvisers at the forefront of Improvised Music in North America, and from around the world.

This year’s festival features visionary musicians visiting from Tokyo, Berlin, Arizona, BC, Philadelphia, Portland and of course Seattle.

The Seattle Improvised Music Festival is Seattle’s annual opportunity to witness international innovative experimental improvisation in music and sound by a host of practitioners representing a sampling of the world’s major players/ scenes/ movements.

Center House will be decked out in good cheer as it prepares for The Next Fifty; honoring the 50th anniversary of the 1962 Seattle World’s Fair. At last the blackbird BISTRO & wine bar is having a wine event!

We are very happy to be working with our friends at SMALL LOT CO-OP who represents some of the best small-lot producers in Washington State. Each Co-Op member winery typically produces less the 2500 cases per year. Their smallest member (Animale out of Ballard) only produces 200 cases annually!

On Friday, November 18th from 6 – 8 p.m., Jeff Boyer, Small Lots Partner will be at the blackbird to introduce you to four great tasting and affordable wines. Chef Colin Nash has come up small-plate parings for each wine. You can chose the food & wine flight package for $32 per person, or you can have a tasting of each wine (served with Parisian baguette) for $10.
